Animal Testing Campaign Backed By McCartney
Sir Paul McCartney has shown his interest in the a campaign to force politicians to implement a ban on animal testing for cosmetics sold in Europe.
Legislation to finish the sale of toiletries which have been tested on laboratory animals comes into place in the European Union in 2013 but critics fear it could be another 10 years before it is made law.
A campaign to urge officials has been started by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection to not delay the move - and dedicated vegetarian Mccartney has pledged his support.
McCartney says, "Animals should not suffer in the name of beauty. Testing toiletries and cosmetics on animals is cruel and unnecessary. Join me in signing the Buav's petition to ensure the sale of cruel products in the EU is outlawed by 2013. Say NO to cruel cosmetics."
